UNAPPROVED RECREATION COMMITTEE MINUTES
MAY 11, 2019

The meeting of the POA Recreation Committee was called to order by Frank Carrotozzolo, Tri-Chair at 10:00 AM, May 11, 2019. Thirty members, all in good standing, were present. All rose for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of April 13, 2019 were distributed to all present. No changes were made to the minutes. A motion to accept was made by Helen Marini, and seconded by Jay Rivera. Motion was passed by a show of hands.

The Treasures Report was given by Frank Carrotozzolo. As of April 30, 2019, WLE Recreation has a balance of $24,050.98.This balance includes Rec 's $5,045.98 CD. A motion to accept was made by Eileen McGregor, seconded by Diane Mula .  Motion was passed by a show of hands.

OLD BUSINESS:
BOB'S GAME NIGHT FOR KIDS:  Game night is held Saturday nights weekly. At this time there are five youths who attend. All going well. Anyone interested in gaming, all are welcome to join.

EASTER EGG HUNT:  Eileen McGregor reported for Jerry Besko, it was a great success, attended by a large crowd. Eileen suggested that more money be put into the budget for this event,  because of the amount of attendees.

DINNER AND A MOVIE:  Frank Carrotozzolo reported the Dinner was a success. A profit of $180.00 plus was made.

RESPONSIBILITY OF EVENT CHAIR:  Al  Cucciniello, Recreation's  Board representative, addressed the fact that it is the event chair person that is responsible for acquiring Certificates of Liability Insurance from outside vendors and submitting these to the office. Also, the same responsibilities for Concert Events apply as above, which also includes issuance of a W-9 if required. Al also stated, that renters can chair an event, as per the Recreation Guide Lines.



SUMMER REC FUNDING:  Per Al Cucciniello, funding for summer recreation programs are the responsibility of the WLE POA.

It was stated by Al Cucciniello, that any WLE POA member in good standing can use amenities, such as kitchens and pantry. After much discussion, it was tabled for Al to go to the Board for clarification.


NEW BUSINESS/UPCOMING EVENTS:
AMBASSADOR GROUP:  Folder was approved and 1000 will be printed. Delivery should be in three weeks. Folders will be kept at the WLE Office. The Community Dinner will be held June 1, 2019. Serving will be held from 4:00PM until 7:00PM. Per Jay Rivera the meat for the sauce is picked up and next week he will get the rest of the supplies.

COMEDY NIGHT:  May 25th MCH 6:00 PM. BYOB trail mix will be supplied.  Event is for 21 and over.

BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 3 on 3:  May 25th 11:00 AM AT Basketball Court signup sheet in office.

FIELD DAY:   May 26th 12:PM until 4:00PM held at baseball field. Eileen McGregor needs volunteers. A meeting will be held for volunteers at  Beaver Lodge.

FAMILY BINGO:  May 26th, doors will open at 6:30 PM,  bingo starts at 7:00PM. New will be Door Prizes. This will be included in Family Bingo this summer.

CLOTHING/CRAFT SHOP:  Opening May 25th.

BELMONT STAKES:  June 8th MC, all okay.

CASINO BUS TRIP:  August 13th, Resorts World Casino.

LOOK AHEAD: 
MOVIES IN THE PARK:  Wednesday evening movies.

TEXAS HOLDEM:  July 12th, Beaver Lodge 7:30PM start.

MUSIC IN THE PARK:   July 13th

COMEDY NIGHT:  July 20th

FLEE MARKET:  July 27th

JULY 4th PICNIC:  July 6th, inventory of tents by Dan Braun, Total 5 - 10x20, 1 - 12 x 20, 4 - 10 x 10.

Per Terry  Cucciniello, Summer Rec Program will include Golf and Basketball. On Friday nights 7PM until 9PM  there will be lessons on Ballroom and Salsa Dancing. She will inquire were the key to area that houses Summer Rec Equipment is kept.

George Greg inquired if there is an event that the Honesdale Harmony Society might serenade. All money they receive for their events goes to good charities.

Next  Rec Meeting is scheduled for June 15, 2019

Meeting was adjourned by a motion made by Diane Mula, seconded byTerry Cucciniello, all in favor with a show of hands.
