    Summer Issue #116

    PRESIDENTS LETTER
    by Jerry Beskovoyne

Already an unbelievable summer on hand!! We are already breaking records and I am hopeful that this incredible weather spell will continue here in our region. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing those of you who could make it to the Picnic and, once again, it was a pleasure seeing the new faces and families that have recently joined our community. We again had record setting crowds at this year’s 4th of July Picnic, and it appeared as though the new convenience building worked out well.

I would like to welcome our new WLE POA Board and Committee members for the 2010 / 2011 year and would like to thank all of the other volunteers for their ongoing effort and support which makes our community one of the greatest in the area.

I extend a warm congratulations to the winners of the WLE Scholarship Awards for this year and best of luck to you with your school year and future endeavors. Thank you to the Maintenance and Sewer and Water staff for keeping the community in such great condition along with all of the systems and amenities up and running. Thank you to Doug, Rocky and their staff for keeping an eye on those amenities and thank you to the office staff and John Carney for coordinating everyone’s efforts to keep our community running on a 24/ 7 / 365 basis.

I would like to drop a paragraph in this letter about a very important upcoming issue that could greatly impact the WLE POA’s future financial status. All of you live in a certain Section of the Association, none of which are Section 6. Section 6 is a 120 acre parcel of property located between the community’s West Gate and the Totem Pole Inn Tavern on Everly Road. At one time this was a part of the Association and still is a part of the original Association’s planned module. Because it was never developed by the original developer due to a lack of funds, it ended up being foreclosed on by several institutions and never really belonged to WLE. Unfortunately and legally, our community is obligated to give the current owners of this parcel of land sewer from our privately owned treatment plant. Our plant would require a nearly $2 million expansion (half on us) to accommodate this offer for which we cannot decline. The current and past Boards, along with the General Manager, have been working on a way to resolve this and we believe we have the answer. We have entered into a tentative agreement to purchase all of this Section with future plans, as well as the purchase itself, to be determined and approved by all property owners. The price is $750,000.00. Please keep your eyes and ears open for special meetings to be scheduled to better inform you of this proposal. We greatly look forward to your input on this issue.

I hope everyone has a fantastic and safe summer and I look forward to seeing you all at the pools and different activities and events that WLE has to offer to you and your families. Please feel free to stop at the office or visit our website www.wleonline.org to find out all of the upcoming functions WLE has to offer for the summer months.
