    Spring Issue #107

    PRESIDENTS LETTER
    by Ted Couillou

Spring is here! The snow removal and ice seemed to go flawlessly this winter and there are so many new and exciting things going on in WLE.

~ Kasper Lodge is scheduled to open this Spring and it will be a wonderful recreation area for our families. Terry Cucciniello and her group of volunteer pre-teen and teens have already submitted proposed rules for using our new family center. Thank you for your hard work. Watch for the ribbon cutting ceremony date!

~ Our new fitness center behind the indoor pool will be in operation by this summer. This will be a great asset to the existing pool and sauna.

~ We plan to install six new wave runner / jet ski slips in our Marina which will be located on docks A, A1 and B.  A yearly lottery for property owners will be available for seasonal rentals.

~ We will house a Fire Truck in our Maintenance bay as a sub-station for the Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department. We have six volunteers from our community, two of whom have already been certified to man the truck at this time.

~ A new regulation size ball-field will be staked out this Spring in section 7 in addition to the existing one in front of Kasper Lodge.

~ The area in front of Deer Beach will be dedicated to Vic Navarra, the founder of the WLE Labor Day Games. Sadly, he passed away last winter.

~ There will be a new aluminum dock placed at the Main Beach Area for all to enjoy.

Due to the wonderful job done by our staff under the direction of our General Manager, John Carney, we have a well synchronized community! We thank our Office Staff, Maintenance, Security and Sewer and Water for jobs well done! Our community is run with the help of all the volunteers who seem to get the same good feeling that I get by getting involved. We also have  hard-working committees. Recreation organizes many events that we all enjoy. The By-laws Committee has reviewed our by-laws and has submitted their recommendations. The Finance/Budget Committee meets periodically and reviews our investments. The Advisory Board Committee is an important tool for communication between you the property owners and the Board of Directors. Let’s not forget the Women’s Luncheon Club and, of course, Neighborhood Watch who keeps an eye on the safety of our community. Thank you to all!

The Board of Directors would like to thank Paula Whitney for her services and energy. We wish her luck! I would also like to thank my fellow board members, Steve Sollenne, Elvin Quinones, Jerry Beskovoyne, Gina Florio and Conrad Zabransky for their hard work and commitment along with George McMullen, who attends our meetings as liaison to the Advisory Board Committee.

We are looking forward to a wonderful Spring and Summer and hope to see you all enjoying what WLE has to offer!
